$25,000 Scholarship Awarded
25th ANNIVERSARY OF PRESCHOOL’S EXCELLENCE MEANS $25,000 COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP TO LOCAL STUDENT
Primrose Schools names nine-year-old Canton student winner of national contest
ATLANTA – Primrose Schools, the country’s leader in early childhood education, recently wrapped up its “Back to School” sweepstakes, awarding Erin Stewart of Canton, GA with a $25,000 college scholarship. Dana Stewart, Erin’s mother, entered the sweepstakes for her daughter at a summer event hosted by Gary Baude and Christine Albert, franchise owners, Primrose School of Sixes Road.
Baude and Albert held a Primrose pool party at the Bridgemill subdivision on August 3 as a way to partner with the local community in Canton. With over 400 people in attendance and several laptops set up, parents were invited to enter Primrose Schools’ sweepstakes for their children, a promotion that took place across the 15 states that operate Primrose Schools. Entrants did not have to be current or former Primrose parents to apply. After attending the Primrose School of Sixes Road event at the Bridgemill pool, Dana Stewart’s entry was selected out of more than 3,000 from across the country as the grand prize winner of the $25,000 College Scholarship Sweepstakes, celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Primrose Schools.
As part of the contest, a bond will be presented to the Stewart’s in their daughter’s name and will be used toward her college goals. “We’re so thrilled that our daughter won this scholarship. This award will give Erin a great start as she begins planning for college,” said Dana Stewart. “We’re so excited and grateful that she was chosen. It’s clear that Primrose views education as a top priority, both when children are young and throughout their lives.”
“I can’t believe we went to a pool party a few months ago, and I won a college scholarship,” Erin Stewart said. “Right now, I want to go to college to become a teacher. I really want to help kids learn, but I might change my mind,” she added. Erin is currently a fourth grade student at Chalker Elementary School in Canton.
“We’re thrilled for the Stewart family and are proud to share Primrose’s vision on education with our entire community,” Baude said. “It’s great to be able to give something back, and we hope this scholarship award from Primrose Schools to the Stewart’s shows our commitment to quality education, not only here in Canton, but throughout the country as well,” he added.
“We’re honored to celebrate 25 years of providing exceptional child care and education, and share our success with the Stewart family,” said Jo Kirchner, president and CEO of Primrose Schools. “We really wanted to do something strong and meaningful to mark this milestone for Primrose, and felt an investment in a child’s future education was absolutely the right way to go. At Primrose, we truly believe in the power of early childhood education, and hope this $25,000 scholarship helps Erin to succeed in her educational goals and throughout her life,” Kirchner added.
The sweepstakes also highlighted former Primrose graduates in their present day environment. The campaign surrounding the sweepstakes featured Primrose graduates holding their grade school photos under the tag line, “I’m a Primrose Kid,” sending Primrose’s core message to parents: With the right foundation, anything is possible.
